Designed specifically for House League players ages 7–12, this clinic focuses on developing the skating fundamentals needed to improve performance in every area of the game.<

Through progressive instruction and high-energy drills, players will work on stride technique, balance, edge control, acceleration, stopping, agility, and overall skating confidence.

Whether your player is looking to improve their fundamentals or take the next step in their development, House League Power Skating provides a positive and challenging environment focused on individual improvement.

AREAS OF DEVELOPMENT

Players will work on:

  • Proper forward stride technique
  • Balance and body positioning
  • Inside and outside edge control
  • Explosive starts and acceleration
  • Speed development
  • Forward and backward skating
  • Crossovers and directional changes
  • Stopping and starting
  • Agility and quick feet
  • Transitions and pivots
  • Skating with control
  • Confidence and efficiency on the ice

WHY POWER SKATING?

Strong skating is the foundation of every hockey skill.

Improved skating allows players to reach the puck faster, create more space, maintain better balance, compete with greater confidence, and become more involved during games.

This program focuses on helping House League players improve their technique while developing the speed, control, and confidence needed to enjoy greater success on the ice.


WHAT TO EXPECT

Each session may include:

  • Balance and mobility exercises
  • Stride-development drills
  • Acceleration and speed training
  • Agility and quick-feet exercises
  • Starts, stops, turns, and transitions
  • Age-appropriate challenges

Players will be challenged at an appropriate level while receiving instruction designed to support continued development.

Full hockey equipment, including a properly fitted helmet and hockey stick, is required.
